Miorsky district was formed on January 15, 1940, located in the north-west of the Vitebsk region and the Republic of Belarus, bordered by the Braslav, Sharkovshchinsky, Glubokoe, Polotsk districts, the Republic of Latvia. The area of the district is 1780 sq km .
